Q: Restoring problem

I have restored an iPhone 5 from an estate. It prompts me to enter the AppleID that it is activated to, but i don't have that information... Any way to get past that?

I don't know. What device are you trying to remove the iPad from?

Your only recourse is to follow the instructions I posted earlier:

If Find My iPhone isn't enabled on your missing device

If you didn't turn on Find My iPhone before your device was lost or stolen, you can't use it to locate your device. However, you can use these steps to help protect your data:

    1. Change your Apple ID password. By changing your Apple ID password you can prevent anyone from accessing your iCloud data or using other services (such as iMessage or iTunes) from your missing device.
    2. Change the passwords for other internet accounts on your device. This could include email accounts, Facebook, or Twitter.
    3. Report your lost or stolen device to local law enforcement. Law enforcement might request the serial number of your device. Find your device serial number.
    4. Report your lost or stolen device to your wireless carrier. Your carrier can disable the account, preventing phone calls, texts, and data use.

Find My iPhone is the only way that you can track or locate a lost or missing device. If Find My iPhone isn't enabled on your device before it goes missing, there is no other Apple service that can find, track, or otherwise flag your device for you.

if i do this: ''goto icloud.com and sign in with your email and password for your appleid.

next click on “Settings” then click on “My Devices” and select your iPod.

On the Devices screen next to your iPod should be a blue circle with a “X” in it, click on it to remove your AppleID from the iPod.'' will it render the device useless if stolen?

No. It will simply remove it as a device your iCloud account.

    1. from the instructions in my previous post:

You can use Find My Friends to track it providing it has not been removed. If you did not have Find My iPad turned on then you do not have the benefit of Activation Lock and by now, the iPad has most likely been wiped.

As for taking it to the Apple Store, you can certainly try, however, Apple's stance has been made clear in the support document that I have linked and quoted for you many times in this thread:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support

If Find My iPhone isn't enabled on your missing device

If you didn't turn on Find My iPhone before your device was lost or stolen, you can't use it to locate your device. However, you can use these steps to help protect your data:
