Q: Album artwork is incorrect on Iphone 6s

Ever since i purchased my iphone6s everything has been working great! However over the past few weeks my music has started acting up a little bit. All the songs I have downloaded play perfectly fine, however, when I add them to my phone the album artwork is completely wrong. For example - I would add a song by Drake to my phone, and it would attach album artwork from Mac Miller. I've tried deleting and re-adding the music but it just picks a different album cover each time. All the artwork is completely fine in my iTunes as well.

Any help would be amazing!

Same issue here - albeit with my iPhone 6. All was good for 6 months. But this started about a week ago. Album artwork is perfect in iTunes on my mac. But when I transfer to my iPhone, the new music I load has messed up artwork.

Oddly, the "wrong" album artwork is in sequential alphabetical order by Artists. In other words, I tried adding 2 new albums from my mac to my iPhone. On the phone, the artwork is of another artist each time, starting with the letter A. I delete and try again, same thing happens, but the new "wrong" artwork each time is from a different artist starting with A. Not that it really matters, but I find it odd that every time I try, it's a different "wrong" album art all within artists beginning with A. I'm sure if I try enough times, I'll get to artists starting with "B"

Very frustrated as I've been meticulous about my music files, names, tags, art, etc.

mine too, here is my solution,i don't know why it worked but i think it is already downloaded in your iPhone's database or your itunes database.

    • delete your music in your iPhone
    • open itunes in your PC/Mac
    • connect your iPhone to your PC/Mac (if itunes auto sync is on, disconnect your PC/Mac internet first before you connect your iPhone in your PC/Mac)
    • disconnect your PC/Mac internet
    • sync your iPhone

I tried this and it didn't work.  Iphone 6 is still displaying random artwork from other artists on my phone.  It's been happening to every album I upload onto my phone since the middle of January.  Any other ideas?

This is infuriating me actually.  I've been using an iPhone for years and never had this problem until recently.  How hard is it to allow me to control my own music and have the album art that is in my iTunes be the album art that shows on my phone?  Time for apple to relinquish some control over my music or time for me to switch to Android.  Almost all the album art on my phone is now incorrect, I don't need some roundabout fix for this like me erasing all my music and reloading it, I need apple to fix whatever is wrong and address this issue.

    I tried a few things:

1- Delete the songs in question and sync with wifi off on phone

2-Delete the songs in question with wifi off on pc

3-Restore my iphone to the last back up

4- I did the option above- I deleted all my music off my phone and turned wifi off on my pc and synced and now even more music is messed up.

I recommend waiting sounds like Apple needs to address this in the update.

My problem was exactly the same. Music was fine in itunes and displaying incorrectly in iphone. I have a 6s.

Also I wasn't having an issue like some where they were seeing a collection artwork was displaying for the artist but not the individual album, I literally had the wrong artist album artwork displaying. The song I wanted and that was listed was fine, everything sounded fine just the album artwork was messed up. Also every time I tried to re-sync after deleting, the album artwork changes but not to the correct artists. It just picked a new album.

This has been an ongoing issue for quite awhile. The only thing that works is to delete all your music from iPhone then re-sync it. Missing artwork, scrambled artwork etc. BTW...seems to be more of an issue with music you've imported from your personal collection i.e. CDs and non-itunes store content. Amazing Apple can't get their devices to work correctly with their own software this far down the road. Ipod shuffle is the only Apple device I've never had an issue with.

    Hello,

I had exactly the same issue, but seems like I've solved the problem.

Try to re-log in with different iTunes account you might have, when you copy (or sync) the songs with wrong album art issue.

Probably this is linked to the authorisation of your iTunes account related to the mp3 in your computer.

I have been having this exact issue since May, 2016 in iOS 9, albeit with an iPhone 5S. I had hoped that the update to iOS 10 would address the issue, but it was persisting. I contacted apple support via chat and their first suggestion what to go into Settings/Music and turn off 'Show Apple Music'. I did that, but it did not address the issue on its own. Their next suggestion was to disconnect the phone from the computer, delete all music, and then re-connect and re-synch it. I was not willing to take it to that level quite yet so I tried something else. Going on a hunch that Apple Music was somehow interfering when adding new albums, I left that setting tuned off in the iPhone, deleted one of the offending albums using iTunes and then re-added it. Lo and behold, it was now showing the correct artwork. I quickly repeated the procedure with the rest of the albums with improper artwork and it fixed the problem for all of them. I think 'Apple Music' is the real culprit here, somehow it is causing any new albums to grab the wrong artwork. In my case, it was ACDC's 'Back In Black'. I have no idea why. I never use the Apple Music service, preferring to load my music directly from CDs, so leaving that turned off is no sacrifice whatsoever. I hope this helps someone else.
