Q: Why does the WININSTALL USB that Boot Camp Assistant created give me the No Bootable Device error?

I have an official MSFT Windows 7 Ultimate x64 install image.  I used Boot Camp Assistant to make a "bootable" USB installer with the microsoft image.  And when I go to install Win 7, I get "No Bootable Device found -- insert disc and press any key"

I'm using a mid-2012 MBP, not Retina, running El Capitan, though I'm thinking about wiping it and going back to Yosemite.  All latest patches & such have been applied.  Also, if I boot and press option, I see the WININSTALL USB stick.  I select it, and "No Bootable Device found..."

Help!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
