Q: How do I increase icloud storage on a phone under the family plan (that is not the primary iphone)

My daughter has an iphone 5s

I have 200 GB of icloud storage plan

I have a 6s (not that that matters)

my daughter's phone is under the apple family plan which i set up

this blocks out access to icloud on the 5s phone

I am trying t find out a way to add more icloud storage for her phone....

What can I do?

iCloud accounts are tied to Apple IDs, not phones.

If she signs in to iCloud with the same Apple ID as you use, she can use your storage plan. Family Sharing is for apps and content, not storage space.

You would add more storage for her iCloud account from her phone while she is signed in to her Apple ID.

So the interesting thing - because indeed she has a separate Apple ID, is that when she is logged in under her appleID on her phone - anything to do with Icloud is grayed out. My assumption is because of the Family plan - but now I wonder.....since you said it is just apps and content.

    Still in murky waters.

That's not expected behaviour. I would suggest you call Apple Support for help.
