Q: Yamaha MD-BT01 wireless midi and iOS 9.2.1

Hi All  I just purchashed this great gadget from Yamaha... really nice looking but unfortunately iOS 9.2.1 is not detecting this on Bluetooth search, tried with both iPad pro and iPhone 6. Resetting network settings doesn't solve the issue. My Windows devices, Windows 8.1 and 10 can find the device on Bluetooth search so I guess there's an issue with iOS 9.2.1. Anyone experiencing this too and how can I get this solved?

iPad, iOS 9.2.1

I also have the MD-BT01 which is plugged into my P115 Silent piano. To connect it to my iPhone 5 (iOS 9.2.1) I downloaded the free Yamaha app called "Digital Piano". In this app go the settings and scroll to the button "Information". Enter the model of your instrument (in my case P-115) and click the button "Setting" in the line "Bluetooth MIDI Device". The dialogue will detect your MD-BT01 and you can select it to connect to it. In the iPhone Bluetooth settings you will now see the MD-BT01. You can now open for example Garageband whilst keeping the Yamaha Digital Piano app open. Garageband will see your MIDI instrument that is connected via the MD-BT01. In my case my piano keyboard now drives the keyboard in Garageband.

fjelg, thanks a lot! It worked perfect. I'm although not using a Yamaha but I just selected one of the devices in there and the program detected the MD-BT. After that I could find the active BT connection in all other programs. You are my hero of the week . What does it mean though? Is this device only meant for Yamaha programs or keyboards. I couldn't find it with iOS built in Bluetooth scan either on my yamaha MX61 . Currently using my Roland VR-09 , working fine with your method, great great great, thanks once again!

    Hi!

    Ipad 2 9.2.1, CLP-585

I've downloaded Yamaha Digital Piano Controller, I go to information, i select P115 (hence no CLP585), but I see no "Setting" or "Bluetooth MIDI Device" line. What version of software are you using? I'm on 1.1.1 .

    Thanx
