If it's been jailbroken you will have to restore it using DFU mode, using a computer that has never been used to jailbreak a device.

Feb 28, 2016 11:42 AM in response to Lawrence Finchby Italex,I tried this on a laptop that never had any apple products nor iTunes. I tried putting the phone in DFU mode, and it did the same thing. Now, I reboot with power/home button, leave home button pressed. The iphone, shows that logo with the plug and itunes sees it and goes into update / recover mode and goes through the steps. I have downloaded the ipsx file and pressed the shift key while clicking on restore, it goes through the steps, and it kicked over once and quit half way. I tried the regular method and it's gone through the steps, and nothing. I'm at my wits end...Any other possibilities on getting this recovered???
If I went / contacted Apple would they help???

Feb 29, 2016 2:30 PM in response to Philly_Phanby Italex,I tried it just regular DFU and did the restore / restore iphone and it expanded the file and still got the 3014. Is there no salvation for this device?

Feb 29, 2016 2:59 PM in response to Italexby Lawrence Finch,Did you download an ipsw file, or let iTunes choose the file itself? Since it's an iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.2 is the only version you can install.
