    Hi russalan,

I understand that after you upgraded to El Capitan yesterday, you are seeing a notification badge for FaceTime, and you want to get rid of it.  If you open System Preferences > Notifications on your MacBook Air, and then scroll down and select FaceTime you can deselect the Badge App icon feature.

Hi russalan, Open Face Time and see if you have an Audio message.  I get this sometimes when  I don't answer my iPhone.

Thanks for that. I've tried it but when I turn it back on the red 1 is still there.

Try opening Face Time and clicking on Audio, are any of you contact in red?  I in red click on them and also check for voice mail.  Please let me know if you get this figured out.  I have been an iMac user for many years and just recently bought my first iPhone, so I am surfing the learning curve getting used to my telephone being a hand held computer and my iMac doing double duty as a computer and  a big stationary telephone!  I like it this way.
