Q: Opened Finder windows in Finder sidebar and Open/Save dialog

Drag any folders you routinely save to to the sidebar.

I can't understand why Apple don't add that as a default to the Open/Save dialogue. "Default Folder" provides that in its supplement to the Open/Save dialogue, but DF makes the interface so clunky that I just shut it down. In fact, from all the features DF provides, this is the only feature that I really miss.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
