Feb 28, 2016 1:35 PM in response to h_patteby Kenichi Watanabe,The iPod's storage may have data corruption. If the iPod appears in iTunes when connected, I would use the Restore button on the iPod's Summary settings screen. This erases the iPod, reinstalls its software, and sets it to default settings.
If this is not possible for some reason, put the iPod into Disk Mode
Putting iPod into Disk Mode - Apple Support
Run iTunes and connect iPod. If iTunes picks it up, it may prompt you to do a Restore with a message about "recovery." If you are OK with erasing the iPod, tell iTunes to proceed with the Restore.
If the iPod does not have a hardware problem, it should operate normally after the Restore.
