Feb 29, 2016 11:20 AM in response to Allan Eckertby unitedwaykat,Thank you Allan. I was researching for an old friend, I meant "old" friend, and he is getting an iPad for playing games in his golden years and hoped they would transfer but I did not think so either. Do you know if there is a plentiful supply of solitaire type games in the Apple store? Thanks again for all your help.

Feb 29, 2016 11:28 AM in response to Phil0124by unitedwaykat,Thanks Phil, that's what I was hoping to hear. My friend is 92, quite alert, but just can't get out much so does a lot of reading and playing games on his computer. I appreciate everyone's quick responses here, you folks are great !

Google:
app store ipad solitaire

http://www.solitairewhizz.com/
What I did for my mom is to search for the game in the app store. I found ipad versions for most of her games.
A lot of the "free" ipad games are supported by ads. I found it advantages to pay a dollar or two to upgrade to the add free version.
