Jul 12, 2013 3:30 AM in response to Le Voxby diesel vdub,Basic troubleshooting from the Users Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Jan 18, 2014 4:51 PM in response to Charliebear88by dimitris_chair,Today i sent a text message to my friend and It seemed to be delivered (turned green ) . I spoke with her and told me nothing was sent. I saw my messages and still i could see my message was sent. I restarted my iphone and the message had dissapeared from the conversation like i never texted it . This brought me to a big missunderstanding. From what i understand nobody has a logical answer.

Take the issue up with the carrier.

Feb 18, 2014 10:53 AM in response to Le Voxby jeezyheartsagn,This is NOT a carrier issue.
First if all, there's no way the carrier can delete messages from your messages app. Second, after a reboot the messages come back. So please stop with the take it up with the carrier nonsense. This IS an ios problem.
Secondly, I'm having the exact same issue but it happens with BOTH (gasp!) iMessage and SMS.
It started happening after my phone lost sync with date/time and wouldn't send iMessage. Reset date time and now messages just disappear... And not to everyone. Some contacts the messages don't disappear some contacts they do disappear.
If anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it please post.
Thanks

May 1, 2014 8:16 AM in response to Le Voxby earth2nina,Did you ever find a solution to the problem?
I am experiencing the exact same issue.

Jul 2, 2014 12:11 AM in response to Le Voxby brisk540,Had the same issue and I fixed the problem. I have an app that only works for what ever reason before a certain date so I set my time to an incorrect date. Then this issue, as stated at the top, started to happen. I went back in to settings then date & time and changed it to the correct date and sure enough it fixed the issue of disappearing texts. Hope this helps you and future visitors with this problem.

I had the exact same experience as you last week. My time was off and some of my texts disappeared or were time stamped wrong. I did a hard reset and that fixed it for the time being. But, it happened again today. What the heck? I agree this is not a carrier issue. And it happens with SMS and iMessage as well.

Feb 28, 2016 6:55 PM in response to Le Voxby lucidmojo,I have been having this problem as you described. Its unnerving not to get intended messages, pretty much renders the phone useless. I cant open other apps also w/O crashing. The storage almost full message is relentless. I deleted ALL apps , photos, music from the device. still does it. cant synch with iTunes, says it needs a newer version and I t wont back up to cloud. Tried restoring, no bueno. Im at a loss. I do not want to have to purchase another new phone. this one should work. its in prime condition and only a year old. If anyone knows an answer....
