Q: Autofill not working on iPhone 6(S), iOS 9.2.1?

For some reason 'Autofill' is not bringing in my ID and passwords. For instance when I buy through PayPal on my iMac, in Safari it brings up my ID and passwords, on my iPad the same, but not so on my iPhone. Does anyone have any idea why? I'm sure I've got it all set up correctly. If I go into 'Safari' on my iPhone, then 'Passwords' (do the touch ID thing) it shows all my passwords including the one for Paypal - so why doesn't it add it in to the appropriate windows when I'm in or using Paypal? Saying this I was accessing PayPal through the e-bay website - when it  links t o it for Payment. Is this why?

    Hi, richardesigner.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like Safari isn't filling out the username and password in certain websites.  Let's start with making sure that Private Browsing isn't enabled.  The steps below will show you how to check to see if this is enabled.

If Safari isn't automatically filling in account names and passwords on some websites

    iOS 7.1.1 or later:

    1. Tap Settings > Safari > Passwords & AutoFill and make sure that Names and Passwords is on.
    2. Press the Home button and open Safari. If Safari is black or dark instead of white or gray, turn off Private Browsing. Safari doesn't save account names and passwords when Private Browsing is on.

    Get help using iCloud Keychain

The next step would be to clear all Safari data and test to see if the behavior persists.

Safari web settings on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

    Cheers

    Hi Jason269,

Thanks for your e-mail. I checked and everything is already switched on and no I'm not using Private browsing. I tried connecting to PayPal through Safari and auto password worked. I can only think that it is when I'm accessing a website - through another website that auto password doesn't work. Maybe there is some kind of security issue?

Check keyboard settings for 'shortcuts'. I've been trying to work this out for ages and for me, turning on and off 'shortcuts' enables and disables auto fill. Have reported to Apple tonight. Let me know if that sorts it.
