Feb 26, 2016 7:08 AM in response to Hereinhollywoodby Nubz N.,Hi Hereinhollywood,
So we have mixed information for why Apple Software Update is giving the message, "server could not be found".
It was working fine until the hard drive was replaced. Security software is installed but it was working before the replacement.
Thanks for checking the settings for Symantec Endpoint Protection and the hosts file.
Beyond that, please check out these articles.

If you don't see some features of your Mac in Windows - Apple Support
The first two are about downloading content like updates.
The third is to insure the Windows support software is good.
Best regards.

Feb 27, 2016 11:35 PM in response to Nubz N.by Hereinhollywood,Hi--
Thanks for your initial response. I went through all of those steps, including resetting the Windows 'hosts' file, adding exceptions to or even disabling Windows Firewall (as that's what I have left after uninstalling Endpoint), reinstalling the BootCamp drivers, and also individually repair installing the ASU program multiple times. The same issue persists. Another thing I previously attempted was installing ASU from the BootCamp 6 files (I'm on BootCamp 5.1 by default, as I have a 2009 Intel Mac Pro), and that didn't make a difference either. iTunes, iTunes store, and all other log-ins work.
