Mar 1, 2016 11:58 AM in response to ChrisJ4203by Rkreinke,I have already tried that. The only method that I would be able to do is the recovery mode. So I connect my iPod to my Windows PC via USB. Then, I open iTunes. iTunes gives me a message saying "iTunes could not connect to the iPod touch "Ryan's iPod Touch" because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPod touch before it can be used with iTunes." with the options "More Information", "Try Again", and "Cancel". I hit cancel, and then restart my iPod holding down the power and home buttons simultaneously until the white Apple logo appears on the screen. When the iPod turns back on, it goes right back to the "iPod is disabled" "connect to iTunes" screen.

Mar 1, 2016 12:01 PM in response to Rkreinkeby ChrisJ4203,From the support document that I provided earlier:
Open iTunes. If asked for a passcode, try another computer you've synced with, or use recovery mode.
If it is still asking for the passcode then you have not gotten the device into Recovery Mode.
Erase your device with recovery mode
If you've never synced with iTunes or set up Find My iPhone in iCloud, you'll need to use recovery mode to restore your device. This will erase the device and its passcode.
- Connect your iOS device to your computer and open iTunes. If you don't have a computer, borrow one from a friend, or go to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
- While your device is connected, force restart it: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. Don't let go when you see the Apple logo — keep holding until you see the recovery mode screen.

- When you see the option to Restore or Update, choose Restore.

iTunes will download software for your device. If it takes more than 15 minutes, your device will exit recovery mode and you'll need to repeat steps 2 and 3. - Wait for the process to finish. Then you can set up and use your device.

Mar 1, 2016 12:26 PM in response to ChrisJ4203by lllaass,That means you did not get the iPod in Recovery mode. See BOLD below
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
Use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings
To restore from backup see:
Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
or
If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.

Mar 1, 2016 2:15 PM in response to Rkreinkeby ChrisJ4203,Okay, that is the only thing that can be done. If you were unable to get the device into Recovery Mode following the steps listed, then your last selection in the support document is to contact Apple Support. That link is live in my post, use it to find Apple Support in your area.
