Q: iMessage for PC?

I know that people who have Mac products can connect iMessage from their iPad, iPod, and iPhone to their computer so they can message people without using their handheld device.  But can this feature be used on a PC?  If so, how?

Chrome Remote Desktop is a good solution and it's free.

Another solution is Parallels Access. Parallels Access is not free but has some nice features, and I like exploring different solutions.

I'd love to see it added to the iCloud browser based suite along with the mail, notes, find my phone, calendar, pages, keynote, numbers etc.

Yeah! It would be very useful if we could download a stand alone program for iMessage. kind of like the old AOL IM. Our login would simple be our Apple IDs and Password.

Defo, i'd love to see iMessage on iCloud.com It would be a clever move especially as it could be authenticated from a mac or an iOS device before each use to really rule out abuse.

That's what they should do - just set it up to be accessed through the icloud or itunes account and then be able to 'message' using that IF you own an iphone!  It seems elementary because why else would anyone need to 'imessage' on a pc unless . . . . they HAD an iphone??

    Hi,

Some people like to use a computer for several reasons.

Poor eye sight can be one.

Difficulty in using a small touch screen can be another.

If you have a Mac you can go to System Preferences > iCloud.

You will see that the Messages app nor iMessages are mentioned.

Whilst the iMessages account on the Mac version may well use an Apple ID that is also linked to iCloud the whole iMessages messages system has nothing to do with iCloud.

You will also notice that there is no mention of iTunes, FaceTime or the App Store either.

This means adding additional items to the iCloud servers is not as easy as  it first seems.

So sure Remote Messages has some misspellings on their website. The dev probably doesn't speak English well. So what? It's totally legit and works well. I iMessage from my PC regularly using Remote Messages. It's funny that the solution is right in front of you but people discounted it for a bad reason.

I don't think I consider remoting into a Mac, mirroring your iphone to your PC, or running and emulator a good solution to this. Remote Messages works like a charm; the only drawback is having to jailbreak, but it's easy, safe and reversible so no problem.

Actually, for me, reading is not the issue.  I want to type replies on my PC.

Oh well.  After 30 years on a PC, I finally broke down and bought a MAC last summer and an iPhone last month.

I am so over them.  The finder *****, iTunes is weak (several free android apps are better.  I bought it because it was supposed to be easy.  Well, I can't get it to work as well as android or my PC.  I'm a techie, but I wanted to stop.  So, I bought the MAC.  I have spent several sessions at the Apple store trying to get things working.  It's been more work than my PC.

So, I'm done. I figure it's a PC this month and a Samsung S7 next month.  I gave Apple a try... But, if they keep this up, I expect Windows to come back and crush them in the future.  Bummer.

I too want iMessage and FaceTime / FaceTime Audio on my PC. If Apple actually put those things on icloud.com then that website would easily become the most used Apple product, and most used website on planet Earth. But unfortunately Apple are more keen on jealously punishing PC users for not buying a MacBook it seems. :C

I don't see how this works to set up Apple SMS or imessage on a PC.  Can you clarify?

If they just had iMessages on iCloud.com this would take care of it for PC users.
