Mar 1, 2016 4:31 PM in response to Philly_Phanby plbrandel,That would be fine if there was an audible prompt from Siri that you received a text message. The best integration would be for when driving and you receive a text message, Siri would let you know via the car speakers that you have received a text message and then prompt you for the options of having Siri read it to you and then with options to reply.
And I believe that the phone has to be physically connected to the car.

My "6" must be connected to USB for power but I do that anyway when I'm in the car (mostly because the Maps app is a power hog). My understanding is that the "6S does not require any connection.
I do need a second cable to use the car speakers but that's because of limitations of my car system.

That's exactly why I don't use it.

There are 3rd parties solutions.
An example: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/CarPlay/

Sure. Replace the radio for a thousand dollars. Hmmm... I don't need CarPlay that much!

Then don't.
For the sake of argument, it's still cheaper than buying a new car.

For the sake of argument, it's a **** of a lot more expensive than plugging in a cable, especially since I already own the cable.
