I did the recommended update on my laptop and got most way thru the install and this happened, couldn't open program or use a newly downloaded installer. Tried to delete and reinstall. This is the message I get for anything I try....help please

Try repairing Apple Software Update from the Programs and Features control panel, then reinstall iTunes.
