Q: iPod stuck in Recovery Mode and won't stay connected to iTunes

I tried to update my iPod  to iOS 9.2.1 and during the update process something went wrong and my iPod went into recovery mode. I've downloaded two separate programs to help me get it out of this mode. Both of them required me connecting my iPod to a USB port. I went to plug it in, it connected, then when I started the process on the program to exit Recovery mode, the iPod immediately disconnected, interrupting the program's progress, before reconnecting again a few seconds later. I've unplugged and then plugged back in both the cable from my computer and from my iPod multiple times, but it does the same thing over and over. Restarting my iPod does nothing, and restoring does nothing. Anyone have any idea why my iPod doesn't stay connected?

Programs used: iPhone Data Recovery, RecBoot

iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 9.2

    You said "restoring does nothing."

Did the restore complete without errors?

    Check your USB connections

    Errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4005, 4013, 4014. You might also see a message that includes "invalid response."

If the USB connection between your device and computer is interrupted, you might not be able to update or restore.

To narrow down the issue, try different equipment:

If you still see the error message, check for hardware issues.

    Try

    - Try another cable.

    - Try on another computer

    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

I don't believe it did. Like when I was trying to use the programs my iPod kept disconnecting during the process. I was given no indication that the restore went through.
