Q: What charger am I looking for?
Hi there,
My charger is on it's way out, as I've seen on reviews of the product, my base is fraying and i'm worried about it's lifespan and safety, so it's time to get a new one.Problem being the one I thought I'd need to buy is a different style to the one I do have, that I got from my box.
My model details are below, I assume all that's needed here, some guidance would be great. Thanks!

I believe the Mac you described is this one, or very similar:
It uses the "MagSafe-2" power adapter, 85 Watt.
Higher watts is always OK (but heavier to carry) -- lower Watts will not both charge and run at the same time.
The MagSafe 2 is distinguished by having a slightly lower overall height when viewed in the normal MacBook charging position.
Apple sells a US$10 mechanical adapter from older MagSafe to newer MagSafe-2, which can be used to allow an older MagSafe adapter (such as the cords on certain Desktop displays) to be used with newer MacBook designs.
The L-shaped and T-shaped are functionally equivalent.
-------
if your MagSafe is about to create a situation that may be Unsafe, especially fraying and exposing the wires at the computer-end -- the genius Bar has been given increased latitude too replace it in the name of customer safety. But don't count on it.
