Q: 2010 iMac not booting at all?
Right,
So i recently got given an iMac by my stepfather as he needed a new one for work. I took it on the premises that I would wipe all of the business information off of it.
Anyway, i followed a guide online, and I guess i got a bit over enthusiastic as i ended up wiping the entire OS off of the mac.
I did a bit of research and found that I needed to buy a USB stick with the OS on it and boot from that, however, when I do, nothing happens. When i hold down different key combinations to boot in different modes, nothing happens at all, until I let go, and it just goes to a srreen with a folder with a question mark in it.
What am I doing wrong?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Got the Snow Leopard CD from Apple and it booted from it straight away. Then was able to update to El Capitan. Thank you!
