Q: iPod nano 5g bootloop - use iTunes to restore

Hi,

Message "use iTunes to restore" has shown up in My iPod nano 5g. When I try to restore it with iTunes it becomes a infinite bootloop when it is connected. I can´t restore it.

Disk mode does´t work. Always reset.

The most likely cause is a hardware problem related to the iPod's storage.  iTunes sees it as data corruption, so directs you to do a Restore.  Since the Restore cannot fix a hardware problem, iTunes sees it as data corruption again and direct you to do a Restore.

If you just let the iPod start up (after a Reset), does it get to its normal screen menus?

Do you use a Mac or Windows PC to run iTunes?  If Windows, what version?

    Hi,

    Firstly thanks for your support.

When I left the iPod start up , the normal menu never shows up.  It is always the message "use iTunes to restore".

When iTunes tries to restore it , it reboot again and again so the process doesn's finish or even start. I can´t try disk mode either.

I use Mac version but I also try a windows.   I don´t know how to format iPod if I can´t mount the disk.

    thanks

Are you sure "Disk mode does´t work"?  Did you use the procedure described here?

Putting iPod into Disk Mode - Apple Support

If you can put the iPod into Disk Mode, you may be able to take some steps, like doing a Restore in iTunes (in recovery mode).  Or trying to reformat (Erase) it manually using Disk Utility on the Mac.

    Nothing

In step 5,  apple logo appears and reset, again and again in a loop.  I cannot put disk mode.

    I don´t have more ideas ....
