Q: permissions

SayIs I have a problem with permissions.  Went into utilities and tried to correct. Says they were

corrected, but problem persists. won't let me save to desktop.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

    if your issue is specific to a specific file or file type,

    locate the file using finder > then right click using control & mouse right click or trackpad,

    select get info > this loads a little info window about the file,

    1. file name

    2. file type

    3. file size

    4.file location

     

    incl additional information

    your looking for section titled Sharing & permissions > select and you'll see permissions for your user & others

    make sure its set to read & write for your user

     

    if issue still occurs > start Mac in recovery > CMD & R @ start up until you see Apple logo , then choose Disk Utility

    Select Macintosh Hard drive from the left> choose first Aid > verify disk or verify disk permissions
