Q: Is there an easy way to get GPS coordinates from Maps.app in Mavericks?

My DSLR doesn't have a GPS built in, but I like to Geo-tag some of my photos. I usually just take a pic with my iPhone and then copy the geo data (GPS coordinates) and paste into the photos (in Adobe Lightroom). Unfortunately, I didn't have my phone with me. I have the location stored as a bookmark in Maps, but I don't see any easy way to just pull coordinates.

I know this is my own post and it's almost two years old, but this is still bothering me. The "easiest" way that I've found to do this is still stupid. In El Capitan, here's how I do it. And only if it's really really important.

With the dropped pin showing on the map, click the pin so the pop-out dialog appears. Then go to the edit menu, click Copy. This copies a URL to your clipboard. Go to your favorite text editor (which should be Sublime Text, but I won't judge if it's not) and paste it.

Depending on how you found the address in Maps, the URL will look something like this: http://maps.apple.com/maps?ll=37.331863,-122.029524

The pair of numbers (37.331863,-122.029524 in this case) are the latitude and longitude coordinates. The URLs can get long depending on if you're searching for an address or whatever, but the coordinates should always appear together as ll=xxxxx, xxxxx or sll=xxxxx, xxxxx

    Hope this helps.
