Q: Backing up iCloud Drive data

I use  Offshore (CrashPlan) and a local time machine Backups.

I have important data ONLY in iCloud Drive as I use a few Apple iOS devices .

I understand from the article ( See Link ) that I can make a copy to my iMac BUT I need to make sure that the data is always up to date.

Can the iMac - local copy be synchronise from and to iCloud drive ?
