Classic Mac OSFirst, you posted to the PowerMac forum, which has nothing to do with Mountain Lion compatible computers. PowerMac Macs are only compatible with Leopard and earlier operating systems. Mac Pro refers to a desktop computer. If that's what you have, read this tip:
If you have a notebook computer, read the bottom of the computer or its frame to determine what you have.
There is no such thing as 5.1 Mountain Lion.
You have 10.8.5 Mountain Lion, which you can install if you already have 10.8 on your system.
When selling a computer, you need to verify the following information*:
http://www.macmaps.com/selling.html
Once you can tell us what computer you have, and what age of computer, then we can tell you what system can run on it, and how to install it.

Classic Mac OSIs there any data on the hard drive you wish to preserve before taking any further steps, and had you ever backed up your data before to a point you are satisfied that if something went wrong with installation you could easily recover?
