Mar 5, 2016 12:51 PM in response to Finn Campmanby Russ H,Even though you have fast storage it still might be causing the playback issue…or not.
Bring up the Range tool and select a range that includes the playback issue. Export a master file and see how it plays.

Mar 5, 2016 11:19 PM in response to Finn Campmanby Karsten Schlüter,aside Russ' excellent advice conc. media delivery into your FCPX project as cause for stutter:
there's a perception issue too. If your stills move 'too fast', in terms of: the difference btw two frames is too big, it stutters too.
Found this interactive website, which demoes very nice the coherence btw. frame rate, blur and angle speeds:
https://frames-per-second.appspot.com/
So, if the rendered version still shows stutter, apply some motion blur....
There's a free plug-in for that.....
@Russ:
have you seen Sam Mestman's Demo of 84 simultanous 4k streams, incl. 10 on a MacBookPro?

Mar 12, 2016 7:36 AM in response to Finn Campmanby Finn Campman,I selected the range and this was a great test for the issue, but in addition I found that the stutter was a result of playing the clip at full screen on an iMac rather than the native HD resolution. In any case problem resolved. Super cool links. Always learning from you guys.
