I don't see any need for anyone to get upset on this discussion on whether or not a mouse would be a positive addition to the ipad pro.  It's a personal choice and for those of us who love apple products and the ipad for all the great things it DOES do, having a mouse for many of us would be an incredible addition and convenience.  If we wanted a laptop, for the money, it would've been purchased, but I don't see a negative to have chosen the ipad and still wish to have a mouse work with it.  Also, when the argument is that it was designed for touch only, the wireless keyboard has been able to work with it from the start and therefore really doesn't hold true since the keyboard is on the ipad itself.  Its a "win win" ALWAYS when customers are happy with the product and the company can handle suggestions from its users. No hate back and fourth...just possible solutions.

And yet you can't seem to help from responding.

There is nothing to "debate". iOS had the features it has. Nothing said here will change that. They either meet your needs or they don't. If they don't, you should consider getting something that does. Maybe, at some point in the future, Apple will change those features but, I would think most professionals want a tool they can use now.

I am responding to point out your attitude, also look up the word contradiction....SERIOUSLY!!!

We have explained????? who are we Level 5,6,7,8,9....you are all just individual people behind a keyboard there is no WE you don't work for Apple, and you cant really make statements as if your in the know...your not.

iPad Pro is a new breed, the pencil is only for the iPad Pro meaning it needs tools, so will Apple bring something out..who knows.

At the end of the day, we are just users like you, we cannot do anything to get mouse support on an iPad other than provide feedback to Apple directly.

I am not asking you to do anything I am very much aware that you are just users that is very clear, your just users which have been on here a bit to long to believe you mean something, you don't.

I am trying to understand why the attitude on this board is so self important,  I own a lot of Apple products and this is the only time I have thought they have got it wrong.

never once felt a need nor a desire for

This does not mean everyone else does not need the desire, you are one person.

As are you, so your opinion matters no more or less than anyone else's.

Word documents, work with Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations

Word is pretty standard, you would not need a mouse, as for PowerPoint you either do not use it or have very basic skills for it, as yes PowerPoint does need a mouse when you are angling up shapes and text or designing a new template the drag and drop with your finger takes time and if on a stand is not possible, any PowerPoint expert would say the same, unless they have a lot of time an patience, which why make things harder.  Remember PowerPoint is Microsoft and Microsoft use the mouse.

No, PowerPoint in iOS does not need a mouse. You may prefer one when using it, but it does not need one.  You seem also to be unaware that while Microsoft may be the developer and publisher of Powerpoint for both Windows, OS X and iOS, the Windows and iOS versions have numerous distinct differences in how they actually function.

And my skills, which you know nothing about, are well beyond "basic". I've been using PowerPoint for scientific presentations since the first release of MS Office back in 1990.

Care to explain as I own a copy on Windows, PowerPoint and iOS and I run it on Windows 10 through the new tv adapter and yes the version on mobile devices are missing a lot of features, also I have been using PowerPoint since Windows 3.1.

Again everything you guys are coming back with is self importance as if you know better.

I can tell you 100% yes you can use PowerPoint on a iPad and does not need a mouse, you took my sentence out of context, was it designed originally for touchscreen NO, has the transition from Mouse to touch screen been good NO, is it as easy to design in PowerPoint on touchscreen as with a mouse NO.

I have no problem with you wanting mouse support in iOS or providing Apple feedback requesting it. I take offence at your own arrogant and insulting comment that apparently every professional needs mouse support to use an iPad Pro, and that if we cannot see that, apparently we are all merely "basic" users of the technology.  Your wanting mouse support in no way translates into "...for people saying the iOS is not designed for a mouse, when you have a screen the size like the iPad Pro you 100% need mouse support".

You accuse others of self-importance yet you post your opinions as fact and belittle people who claim that they disagree with your concepts of professional use of a piece of technology.

Yes, but we understand that posting here incesantly about wanting a mouse will not change the fact that it does not currently support it. And we also understand why it does not have a mouse, which you don't appear to.

If you want a mouse or require a mouse that's fine. But it does not have one. What are you now going to do about it?

Keep telling us why we are wrong, or arrogant, or stupid because we accept the fact it does not have one, instead of posting diatribes about why it should?

It doesn't, and posting here will not change that. Or our opinión about whether it needs one or not,

That seems more of a level headed response, again there is no we there is only you and other community users, you are not a team.

I understand there is no mouse support, and I have understood the responses its the statements and clever remarks with no real substance, you guys are like an like an army defending your kingdom.   If the original responses had less attitude this would have been a much different conversation, my argument was there is a way of talking to people without slyly putting them down.

    Really?  You didnt say:

So apparently you speak for all "PowerPoint experts" (whatever that even means), and those of us who disagree are merely basic skill level users?

You might try practicing what you preach.
