Q: How can I open my homepage on Safari when I get the message "too many redirects"?

yes...It is my.yahoo.com....sorry I didn't put the period in my first post.  It is spelled correctly.

I was able to follow your directions and checked the box "Show develop menu in menu bar"...but I don't see any Develop>empty caches.  Where do I locate it?

Okay...I found Develop and did empty the caches....no change in loading my.yahoo.com....keep getting redirect error message.

I did try the suggestion in the article...that was the preferences>privacy> details I mentioned in my original post.  It did not help.

This is interesting and might help with an answer....I have google chrome on my iMac as well as Safari.  I tried to load my.yahoo.com on Chrome, and it gave me the same redirect error message, but it showed me how to remove cookies for the site, which I did, and it loaded just fine.  So I can load my.yahoo.com on Chrome, but not Safari.  Does that info help with a solution?

Just tried disabling the extensions....my.yahoo.com didn't load.

I read the first article and found it difficult to comprehend....my problem is only with Safari when trying to load my.yahoo.com page.

I've read the second article several times and have tried clicking on details to just delete my yahoo websites that were listed...did that...didn't make a difference.  I know the article suggests that if step one didn't work, to click on the Remove all website data, but I am hesitant....could you tell me if I get rid of all the websites, will I have a major problem logging back in on many of them?

I also use Dashlane for secure login....if I eliminate all websites, will Dashlane also lose the login information?  Thanks for any help with this.
