Mar 5, 2016 12:38 PM in response to mrsjancby elcpu,That is not true, when I take photos (and I do this a lot) they go to Camera Roll (I don't use iCloud Photo Library). I import them from Camera Roll using the instructions above all the time...

Mar 5, 2016 12:40 PM in response to mrsjancby Demo,No, That is not correct. The instructions are indeed For importing photos from the camera roll to the Photos app.
Did you connect the phone to the Mac with the cable? If you did and the Photos app did not launch on its own, launch it yourself. After it starts up, it should recognize your phone as a device on the left sidebar. Select your device and then the option to import should appear.
Your Photo Stream photos may be downloading to the photos app, but those are not necessarily the same photos that are in the camera roll, however, many of them may be the same.

Mar 5, 2016 12:47 PM in response to Demoby mrsjanc,I am following the instructions and yes i do get the option to import from phone to photo app on mac...however, they are not the photos from my camera roll as it is offering images that are unedited when the ones in the camera roll have been edited.

Mar 5, 2016 12:54 PM in response to mrsjancby Demo,You didn't say that the photos were edited and I believe what you are seeing, is how it works.

Mar 5, 2016 12:57 PM in response to mrsjancby elcpu,When I edit a photo in Camera Roll using the native editing features of the phone app, a second file is stored on my phone containing the edit changes (it is not a copy or edited photo, just a file with edit metadata). Apple does this to allow you to revert to the original if desired. For this reason I do not use the native editing features on a phone, I use Pixelmator (good and cheap) or the free Photoshop Express and I edit a copy, not an original. I can then import both the original and the edited version and keep or discard as I want.

Mar 5, 2016 12:58 PM in response to Demoby mrsjanc,Sorry, wasn't aware them being edited would make a difference, seems i cannot do what i want to do, air drop does not work (macbook and iMac pre 2012) and iCloud drive is not showing as an option either, this could also be due to age of my mac book and iMac.
Thanks for trying to help.
