I understand you are dealing with three issues, which may or may not be related - on your iPhone 6:
1) iPhone gets warm
2) Battery drains quickly
3) Cannot update appsWithout any more specifics about your issues, what I can do for now is offer some basic information and general troubleshooting steps for your iPhone, which resolves most of these issues.
Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures
Optimizing iPhone battery performance
- If you are unable to update your apps, try signing out of the iTunes Store, then restarting your iPhone.
- Check the available storage to make sure you have room for the updates.
- Check/update your iTunes Store billing information.
Sign in with a different Apple ID on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Check your storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Change or remove your Apple ID payment information
If you can‘t update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again
Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes. If you don't have a computer, borrow one from a friend or go to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for help.
While your device is connected, force restart it: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, and don't release when you see the Apple logo. Keep holding until you see the recovery mode screen.
When you see the option to Restore or Update, choose Update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data. Wait while iTunes downloads the software for your device.Russell, please take a look at these initial steps and let us know if any of them help you. If not, please provide some more specific information (error messages, etc.) about your situation and we'll do our best to help.
Take care,
