Q: I can't remember my passcode. My home button broke, and it now says to connect to iTunes. When I did that it just says it can't do anything until I type my passcode in. Any help?

I need to get into my iPod. It is cracked, but the home button broke before then. I have tried the pass codes I remember using, but I don't know all of them obviously. I am keeping a written log of the ones I am guessing. I already talked to an Apple support guy. He says there is nothing I can do. I am very frustrated and I don't live anywhere within 4 hours of an Apple, or BestBuy or anything like that.

iPod touch, iOS 9, It might be 9.0.1

Blue text is a link. If you click on the link and go to my reply on the first page it provides a method of using a computer app to place the iPod in Recovery mode so that you then can restore the iPod via iTunes

If I go to this page and use the link with my iPod plugged into the computer will it do anything to my computer?
