Q: How to separate photos from other iPhone?

Hi,

 

I've just switched my wife's old iPhone 5s to the new 6s Plus, I did this by restoring the 6s Plus with iTunes backup, before that I decided to transfer all of her old 5s' photos into my Mac's Photos.

But now all of those photos are appearing in my iPhone instead, how do I get rid of them but still keep them safe and sound in my Mac?

 

I've also made an album in the Photos app (on the Mac) to contain all of my wife's photos, should I move them into external HDD if I want to clean up the photos in the Photos app?

    Hi Andy!

     

    It sounds like you restored your wife phone from a backup and now photos she's adding to her phone are appearing on yours. That seems to me like you are using the same Apple ID with iCloud Photo Library or My Photo Stream enabled. Here is some more info about those so you can try and figure out which it is and how best to go about sorting this out:

    Hi Sterling,

     

    Thanks for writing back.

     

    After you mentioned it; I chose to authorise the Mac I'm using (to manually backed-up her old iPhone) so that I could completely restore back her songs into the new iPhone (she hasn't subscribe to the Apple Music yet, so the songs in her old iPhone are purchased individually).

    Her old photos are slowly appearing in my iPhone, they got that small iCloud icon on each of the photos thumbnail.

     

    Could this be the culprit?

    If yes, how do I fix it?
