Q: MBA 13" i7 2011 came with megasafe 85W charger?

Hello Community!

My megasafe charger won't work anymore. The Pins are black. So i will buy a new one. I just noticed that it is a 85W Charger. So i am not sure if it's the correct one, although it was in the package. Stores suggest 45W. My max. charging capacity is after nearly 5 Years 5009mAh. Is that ok or did I ruin the battery? Order the same again? Thanks for your answers.

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2011), OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

“You should use the appropriate wattage power adapter for your Apple notebook. You can use a compatible higher wattage adapter without issue, but it won't make your computer charge faster or operate differently. Lower wattage adapters will not provide enough power.”

    Buy a 45W charger,

If this doesn’t help, please take the computer to the Apple store to have it checked out.

    Best.
