Q: How can I open my homepage on Safari when I get the message "too many redirects"?

I have an iMac with OS X El Capitan, 10.11.3 and Safari 9.0.3.  I tried to load my homepage this morning (MyYahoo.com) which should happen automatically, however,  I get an error message:  "Safari can't open page...too many redirects have occurred."  I did go to preferences>privacy, clicked on details and found websites for Yahoo that I deleted, but it made no difference, MyYahoo will not load.

I am hesitant to wipe out all cookies and/or history on my iMac....but if that is my only choice, I will do so.

Any assistance would be welcome.

Thanks Eric - downloaded your suggestion and ran the program - still didn't take care of the issue though (which is only on my IMac.)  So strange as Safari runs fine on my MacBook pro and as I said in an earlier post, runs fine on Chrome on my desktop.

Just found this thread after searching for the redirect issue, which just started on Friday (3/4/16).  I tried the many suggestions throughout the thread with no luck.  I am able to get in using Chrome though.  I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if anyone finds a solution and will post one if I figure anything out.

I agree...a yahoo/ apple problem.  I can read my.yahoo.com on Chrome until they figure things out....let me know if you or anyone hears anything differently.  Thanks.

Try https://www.yahoo.com/ instead. I have no problems with Yahoo and Safari. Or any other browser for that matter.

FWIW, I have no problems with my.yahoo.com in Safari.

I don't use Dashlane but can it be disabled temporarily? If so I would see if you have the same problem without it.

Had the same issue.  I fixed this by resetting Safari, then going to another site and then typing in my.yahoo.com.  This loaded then I went into Safari preferences and set this has home page.  Now all works again.  Seems like I had to do this 2-3 times before it worked.

Okay...figured it out.  Found a suggestion to solve a different Safari problem in El Capitan and tried it....it worked...my.yahoo.com is now up and running on Safari once again.

Go to Safari>preferences>Search and uncheck the box for "include Safari suggestion".  Quit Safari and restart.

Worked for me.   Thanks for all the input everyone!
