Q: home sharing be enabled with a PC to transfer music?
I am trying to figure out a way to transfer my music files to my iPhone. I have a MacBook 2,1 (OS X 10.6.8) that I currently use to sync to my iPad (3rd Gen) and both devices backup to iCloud. I recently inherited an iPhone 4S from my son and I would like to put my music file on the iPhone . Apparently, the iPhone requires the latest iTunes version on the MacBook a because iTunes will not recognize the iPhone nor will it sync the music to the iPhone. I also have access to a Windows laptop which recognized the iPhone when I plugged it in via USBport that I could use as a substitute for the MacBook. The only question is: Can I use home sharing to place my music library and playlists on the PC so I can sync the PC to the iPhone and is there an outlined step by step procedure on how to set up the home sharebetween the two computers?

Hi, Darrell.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand you wan to move media from you MacBook to your Windows computer so you can sync with your iPhone 4s. There are multiple ways that this can be done and I will include the step-by-step guide on how to relocate your media.

Once this is done you can sync your iPhone with your Windows computer and here are the steps on how to go through that process if unfamiliar.
