Q: iMessage, FaceTime stopped working

iPhone 5 16GB, iOS 9.2.1 (13D15)

MacBook Pro 13 Late 2011, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

Hello guys,

just need some advice. I am (was) using iMessage and FaceTime on my iPhone and MacBook. Last week I went on business trip to London and got notification that I cant use the iMessage and FaceTime (which was OK, because I got same message on my business trip at Ukraine and everything worked fine after) but when I got back to Czech republic, the iMessage and FaceTime stopped working. I tried to sign off and sign in back again on MacBook and nothing. I got notifications in iMessage and FaceTime on my MacBook that it now using my phone with correct number everything and it still doesn't work. Does anybody know what could it be?

Thank you.

What happens when you try to send a message or initiate a FaceTime?

It wont send iMessage or initiate the FaceTime, but when somebody texts me now or FaceTime me, the message and call are displayed in iMessage/FaceTime on MacBook, because I signed off and in myself again, but it works now only one way, I can only receive.

    Hi,

When the iPhone reconnected in the Czech Republic and you saw the pop ups telling you on the Mac did you accept these ?

It sounds like you have a Mac and iPhone capable of Continuity and  Handoff which is working - where as the proper logins are not.

Try setting the iPhone to Airplane Mode fro a few seconds then turning that Off again.

If you then go to Settings > Messages  the iPhone Number should be Verifying again.

When this is done, AND - if the Apple ID ids logged in the Mac should get another set of Pop Ups.

Accept these. (even if the info is the same as shown in Messages > Preferences > Accounts > iMessages Account on the Mac.).

If this is not the case you will have to reset from scratch.
