Q: storage issues iphone 6

My Iphone 6 says my storage is now full. It was at 10.3 GB but with no additional  apps downloaded it has jumped to 12.2GB,  and even after deleting photos and videos it remains at 12.2GB now. There seems to be something else taking up space but its not listed in the manage storage list.

Anyone know what might be causing my memory to be full?

    SOLVED!!!

After weeks (maybe months) dealing with this issue (everything: deleting photos and music, hard reset, full restore, deleting heavy apps…), today my phone has a lot of space available. The cause of the problem, as some of you pointed, was WhatsApp, but if you deleted it and reinstall it, the problem won't disappear. Today I got an update of the app (version 2.12.15) that in the update description recognizes and solves the issue. Here you got two screenshots:

The first bullet in the description says: "Solves an issue that caused sudden close of the app and AN ERROR THA CAUSED AN INCREASE IN THE MEMORY USE OF SOME PHONES".

    WhatsApp Updated.png

As you can see, the new version number for the app is 2.12.15.

Sorry for my poor English grammar and spelling…

    Hope this helped you!

Whatsapp update fixed the issue but I still have a HUGE difference between used used storage and what shows on manage storage. According to my count I should have at least 25GB free but I only have 3GB since the update.

can someone tell me what to do to fix this?

Same for me. Updated WhatsApp but still missing 18 GB (Setting says 32 GB are in use and it should be only 14 GB).
    Does anyone has a solution?

The problem is still there. I have Updated WhatsApp but still dealing with missing storage.

    I have Iphone 6 with 64GB.

The Iphone is telling me i am using 55GB, but actually I am using only 13 GB.

I move to using Iphone 8 month ago.

I am very disappointed from this behavior

Most of us who faced this problem got it solved by updating the latest Whataspp Version 2.12.15. However, just by updating the app will do u no good unless u reset ur iphone.

After updating it, kill Whatsapp. If you do not know how to, press the Home button twice and slide up Whatsapp. Therefter, press the Home button again to return to the menu. Next, press the Sleep/Standby button and Home button for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo appear. Let go off the buttons and wait for the screen to turn dark. Press the Sleep/Standby button again and ur iphone will start up. Wait awhile and then check your memory again. It took mine a few minutes to recover all the lost space.

    Hope this works.

No, this will not work for me because I have never had whatsapp on this phone, nor did I even know what that was until I read this thread. whatsapp is NOT a factor in this situation, yet my symptoms are the same as yours. Please advise.

    Same here.
Updated WhatsApp, reset iPhone, still missing 16 GB. WhatsApp is NOT a factor indeed.

does anyone actually know what to do? How have you all resolved this issue because  being able to use my iPhone to do basic things like take pictures is getting really annoying. Is it a software issue or what? Any help would really be appreciated!

hi i just wanna share with you about how to fix the storage. okay first, make you that you already done with icloud backup on your iphone. For me the most important to backup are camera, whatsapp, contacts, notes, etc. Second, plug your cable into your  laptop and then open itunes and click your iphone, then click restore at the top on right if not mistaken. It may takes about 2-3 hours. Third, open itunes again, and click restore icloud at the bottom. Hope its useful for you!
