Q: iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 have not been backed up to iCloud for 12 weeks (I suspect it may have something to do with iOS 9 upgrade)
I keep getting messages on my iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 that both the devices haven't been backed up for 12 weeks.
However, whenever I try to back them up to iCloud, they keep 'estimating time remaining' forever and then finally fail after several hours without backing up anything.
1. I have a decent WiFi connection.
2. I put both the devices on charging while trying to back them up.
3. I have a 200 GB storage subscription plan for iCloud - of which 167 GB is still unused.
After going through a few discussion forums on similar issues, I also tried backing them up using iTunes on my computer.
But again, I was kept waiting for several hours only to be greeted with an 'unknown error -54' message.
I'm not sure what the reasons could be but I suspect this may have something to do with the iOS 9 upgrade that I did at around the same time I had last backed up these 2 devices to iCloud.
I have tried doing the following things but the issues have not been resolved yet.
A. Restarted my devices multiple times.
B. Reset the network settings on both the devices.
C. Removed most of the apps from the iCloud backup list, keeping only the bare minimum essentials.
D. Switched to a different WiFi connection provided by a different service provider.
E. Tried both automatic and manual backup to iCloud for both these devices.
This is going on for 3 months now and I haven't been able to backup my data from any of these 2 devices.
Any help/suggestion would be hugely appreciated.
