Mar 8, 2016 2:25 PM in response to danfromwildwoodby Jim Wanamaker,You can not turn it off. Once you have added a keyframe to a parameter then a new keyframe will be added whenever you change the value of the parameter. This is actually a good thing as it is a timesaver.

Mar 9, 2016 5:16 AM in response to Jim Wanamakerby BenB,There is the keyframe record button, then there is normal manual keyframing mode. The record button records keyframes for all category parameters when setting keyframes. With it off, as is default, you manually keyframe only the specific category parameters you want. But there is no "auto" mode that is on by default. Whoever told you that has no clue.
As stated, when you set a keyframe for a parameter, then change that parameter at a different frame for that piece of media, it must, by laws of physics, set a new keyframe. That's not "auto", that's just how keyframing normally works.
Here's the user manual section on keyframing, which is a very helpful read.
