Q: Photos transfered to iphone dont show in PC

Iphone 4s:

IOS 9.2

PC OS win 7

Icloud: No

Other cloud based service to store photos or images: No

Are photos stored physically on the Iphone: Yes

I copied photos from android to a folder on my PC. I opened Itunes and synced the folder on the PC so all photos and videos where transfered to the Iphone.

I can see the photo album on the iphone, i can check my photos and watch the videos.

BUT, when I connect the iphone to the PC and browse the folder "Apple iPhone\Internal Storage\DCIM\100APPLE" no photos are there. ONLY the photos i took with the iphone shows up. Not my other 2800 photos.

Whats wrong and how do I fix it?

iPhone 4S, iOS 9.2.1

That is how it is designed to work. An iTunes sync of photos from a computer to an iPhone is a one-way transfer and the photos are not stored in a location accessible from Windows Explorer on the computer. The original photos must be retained on the PC -- if they are not, any future sync of photos will delete the copy that is on the iPhone. If you have deleted the photos from the computer and want to retrieve them from the iPhone you will need to use 3rd party software such as https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/

In addition to what Fox said above, any photos that you sync from your PC to your iPhone would have to be deleted by reversing the process, i.e., doing a new sync with nothing selected or only the new photos that you want to sync. Synced photos (or Folders/Albums) cannot be deleted from from iPhone directly, only by syncing again with iTunes.

You did transfer them correctly by using iTunes. That is how the iPhone is designed to work.

If you want to delete photos that were placed on the phone using iTunes, you sync with iTunes again but use the following instructions from Sync photos from your computer to your iOS device using iTunes - Apple Support

    1. In iTunes, locate and click on your device.
    2. Click Photos.
    3. Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
    4. Click Apply.

Learn how to delete photos and video synced from iTunes when you can't access the originals.

You are deleting them correctly by syncing with iTunes with no folders selected. However, photos that are synced from a computer to an iPhone do not show up in the DCIM folder any longer. The only photos that show up in that folder are photos that you have taken on your phone and are still in Camera Roll. Photos that were taken with the phone originally, imported to a computer, deleted from the phone, and then synced back will not show up in DCIM. Hope this explains what you can see on your PC...

    elcpu thanks for the help.

The last question then, is there any way for me to transfer photos from the PC to the Iphone so they will show up in the Dcim folder?

The short answer is no, when you sync photos back to your iPhone they will not appear in the DCIM folder. In fact, if the only photos you have are synced photos, your phone will not appear at all in File Manager, you would have to take new photos for it to appear.
