Q: can I shuffle all my downloaded music offline?
Is there any way to shuffle between ALL downloaded music on an iPhone in Airplane Mode so that I'm not stuck shuffling within one artist, one album, or one playlist? I miss the days of my original iPod when the simple "Shuffle" produced magical results.
Now if I'm on an airplane, or cruise ship, or traveling without internet connectivity, my iPhone is next to useless as a listening device because I have to first download music to fit on my phone, and then laboriously select which artist, album and track to listen to. Apple has become so focused on generating revenue streams that they have lost sight on how their customers need to use their devices. There are times (many times) when we don't have continuous 24/7 high speed internet connectivity, and still wish to enjoy our music collections.
iTunes and Apple Music need to have an improved interface to cater to "Offline" use of our iOS devices and music libraries. They should be able to tell which music we listen to most and suggest that these tracks be kept locally for offline use, or dynamically cache some based on memory availability and user preference. Don't force up to upsell to poorly functioning online services by eliminating our ability to micromanage our own music libraries and where we choose to have our files stored.
Apple Music should be able to sense when we are in Airplane mode and allow us to shuffle between any tracks on our devices without having to stay within a single artist or album. That's a pretty basic functionality that is inexplicably missing.
