Q: Installing ITunes to Windows 10 and getting a few error messages

The message "An error occurred during installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT, type="win32", version="8.0.50727.6195", publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b", processorArchitecture=..." may occur because a particular library file is not included in the distribution package supplied with iTunes or won't install for some unspecified reason. Installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update before attempting to reinstall iTunes may help.

hi, I have the same issue, freshly installed W10 x64.. the redistributable trick did not help, also this did not help http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_programs/ itunes-install-error/c1359ee5-e18d-4512-… ... so, what to try next? Call Constantine to do some dark ritual?

There are three versions of the redistributable so you need to pick the one that is appropriate for your processor. You can also try installing the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) version in case that installer is able to succeed when the all-64-bit one won't.

the problem lies within appleapplicationsupport64.msi installer

this one keeps generating those fail messages in both versions of batch instalators (newest one even the one for older video cards) -

Solution:  unrar that batch installers and install all of its components separately: the appleapplicationsupport64.msi from the batch for old videocards worked fine for me! (if launched separately, not in the whole batch)..
