If Find My iPhone is not activated on the device, then you will not be able to track it. Nothing else you can do. You cannot track the device with the serial number or IMEI.

    Hi ymtsukuda,

I'm sorry you lost your iPhone, I completely understand how you would you feel right now. If you don't have your device, try finding the original packaging and locate the barcode to find the serial number and IMEI/MEID.

If you don't have the original packaging anymore, you can try using iTunes. For steps on finding the serial number and IMEI/MEID in iTunes, please follow these steps:

    • On a Mac, go to iTunes, Preferences. On a PC, go to Edit > Preferences
    • Click the Devices tab
    • Hold your mouse over a device which you've previously backed up to see the Serial Number.

You can also try checking your Apple ID device list to see your devices details. For information on doing that, I would recommend you view this support article from Apple: Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in - Apple Support.

I'm sorry again that you lost your iPhone. I've panicked a few times when my iPhone got out of my sight, but I've never been in a case like yours. I'm able to relate to how you feel in a way. Unfortunately, cases like these do happen. For reference, you can also read this support article from Apple that tells you what you should do if your iPhone is lost or stolen: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support.

And if you happen to simply have any smartphones just laying around you may be eligible to trade it in for an iPhone. You can find out more information about the iPhone Trade-In program here: http://www.apple.com/iphone/trade-in/.

    -Regards,

    John
