Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
If you can't erase your iPhone because your Apple ID (iCloud/iTunes Store) password isn't recognized, you may need to restore the device using iTunes--see How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups.
Before going through these steps, you may want to try resetting your Apple ID password using the steps in If you forgot your Apple ID password.
If Find My iPhone is enabled, you will need to enter the password to set up your iPhone again, according to iCloud: Find My iPhone overview:
When you set up Find My iPhone, Activation Lock is turned on automatically. Activation Lock makes it harder for anyone to use or sell your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch if it’s ever lost or stolen. For more information, see the Apple Support article Find My iPhone Activation Lock.
Sincerely.
