Q: Update 9.2.1 to 9.2.1 killed iPad
iPad Air 2, worked fine with 9.2.1- I usually update through WiFi. After connecting to iTunes (MBP. latest OS-X and iTunes) I was told to update to 9.2.1, which I had already. Knowing that Apple is smarter than me I ran the update. This ended with the connect to iTunes sign on the iPad and a There is a problem with your iPad that makes a restore necessary (translated from German). I then get an unknown error 3014 and restore not possible. The connection to the Apple website advised to open Terminal and enter
sudo nano /private/etc/hosts

I am supposed to add # to gs.apple.com. which as anyone can see isn't there. I am too unfamiliar with terminal to just enter # gs.apple.com somewhere.
I tried the same on my account on a different system and on a different system using someone else's account. All the same.
This doesn't make me happy. Any ideas what to do?
Thanks,
Frans

Thanks Niel. However, that's the article I went through. The Terminal-thing didn't work as you can see from my initial question. I do not have a firewire installed. I did get desperate though. I have an old Windows-Laptop and blew the dust off. It did what several Apple-systems refused to, it installed the 9.2.1-software without a hitch! The iPad is now downloading the iCloud-Backup.
New experience for me.
