Q: macbook pro (late 2008) booting issue

Can someone give me advise on what could cause my macbook doing restarting loop when putting power on?

I have tried several things: pram reseting with cmd p r -combo and as well smc by taking the battery off and pressing power button several seconds.

I did reinstall osx again, leopard and snow leopard but still causing the same problem though sometimes it restarts fine after resetting smc but it keeps having the issue after i once turn it off. I thought maybe it's the hard drive so i installed osx to usb stick and tried starting it from there. First time it worked but after that it keeps asking to restart again.

So, maybe someone could advise me if there is something what i could still do to make it work? I guess, at least it's not a software issue or harddrive issue...(?)

If you have a bad SATA cable, they can be replaced and are not expensive.  If the connection to the HDD is faulty on the logic board, then the logic board has to be replaced.

Regarding the GPU, it cannot be replaced alone, the entire logic board must be replaced.  If you have reasonable mechanical aptitude, you can do it yourself.  Look at the iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com web sites for parts and instructions.

    Ciao.
