Mar 12, 2016 8:09 AM in response to Flagretroby Old Toad,First import the video file into your Photos library. From there export it from the library to the Movies folder avi the File ➙ Export ➙ Export X Unmodified Originals menu option.
Launch iDVD, select a them and drag the video file from the Movies folder into iDVD's menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Note: the reason for exporting the file to the Movies folder is so that it won't be moved after adding to iDVD. It needs to remain in its original location until after the project is finished and the project burned to disk. So it's less likely to be moved if it's in the Movies folder than if it's on the Desktop.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
