I need to download some videos in the .mov format. Flip4mac and VLC don't seem to work - (these are streaming videos).

Is there an app I can get to accommodate this? Or am I missing something about f4m and vlc? The option to save remains in gray so can't be clicked on.

thanks

    .mov are Quicktime files.

I'm quite surprised that Quicktime isn't the first application offering to play these videos.

Web authors can choose to not make their Quicktime videos downloadable to protect copyright.

As mrtotes indicated you don't need Flip4Mac or VLC to view .mov files. QuickTime and view these files even the streaming ones. There must be something else going on.

Make sure you are using the latest version of QuickTime.

Repair permissions & restart. Please post back your results.

Also, it would help us to know which G5 iMac "model" you have, how much RAM, etc. You can have this info displayed on the bottom of every post by going to 'preferences' which is located in the column on the right under your name, click on "My Settings" and filling in the information asked for.
This will help in providing you with the proper and/or correct troubleshooting solutions.

    Thank You.
