I assume so as well - they've never been able to be amended directly in Photos.

I am referring to pics saved from the iPad into it...not from the Mac.  We used to be able to save a pic from an email on the iPad or from Safari on the iPad to Camera Roll or Photo Stream - go to, Camera Roll, tap on the pic - it used to have 'move to'  or 'add to' prompt and then move it to the folder you want it in.  Yesterday I tried to do that and it wasn't possible so I had to go to the Mac and do it there and then sync the iPad...soooo frustrating!  I selected the pic, went to 'add to' and the only thing that comes up is 'new album'...all the rest are unable to be accessed.

I still have it.  I started from the Bob album, tap select, tap the photo, tap add to, the choices are below.

Album to album is still possible. I can't help but think there's a misunderstanding in here somewhere.

    Yes there is.

You aren’t really “moving" from one album to another.

You are adding it to one then deleting to from the other.

Also, all photos are in the Photo library or the Camera Roll and photos in an album are simply linked, like songs in a playlist in iTunes.

Album does not actually contain the photos.

You CANNOT have a photo in an album unless it is in the Photo Library or the Camera roll.

But you can have photos in the Photo Library or the Camera roll and not in any album.

Where did the albums that you've currently got on your iPad come from ? You've never been able to add photos to albums that you synced from a computer, only to albums that you've created directly in the Photos app - if you only currently have the built-in albums (e.g. Camera Roll, My Photo Stream), and albums that you synced from a computer, you will only get the 'new album' option on 'add to'

i agree with Joseph, the iPad photos can only be added to another folder but it means they are duplicated. I find it dense they would do this. But in spite of this posters here are like evangelist Apple defenders. if someone disagrees they get shot down as irrelevant idiots. As they do on all Apple forums. This might be why apple forums never actually have answers to anything. oh look the sky is blue! Apple supports: no it's not blue, you need to get your eyes checked. OP: no, I seen it, it is blue Apple supporters: nope, Apple determines whether the sky is blue, no silly little people like our users.

but it means they are duplicated

The photos are not duplicated, all you are doing is creating a pointer to the original photo, not creating a second copy of the photo.

If you don't like it try leaving feedback to Apple via the link that's already been posted on this thread, and/or use a third-party photo management app from the App Store

tthe photos are duplicated my friend, if they are in two places at one time that means duplicated to any reasonable person. such nonsense.

    such nonsense.

I agree, your posts are complete nonsense. The photos are not duplicated, they are only in one place, the additional album is just pointing to and showing the original image

They aren't in two places at one time.

They are in the Camera roll one time time.

When you open an album, you are seeing photos that are in the Camera roll.I guess when you open the phone book and see your address, your house is ACTUALLY in the phone book?
