Q: How do I force mail to create a pop account instead of imap

I have a new mac with El Capitan. I used to have a pop account for Comcast Mail on my previous Mac with an older OS. The new Mail app forces IMAP during account creation. How do I change this so I can have a pop account?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

Actually - this did not work because the window that comes up and allows you to specify POP and incoming/outgoing mail servers did not connect properly - login to Comcast.  I can only assume it would not connect because there was not a way to set ports and SSL. Looks like Comcast does not have a standard port/SSL configuration.

Delete the account, then add it back. After filling in the 1st screen, hold down the option/alt key while clicking Continue. Fill in the necessary information, then click continue until all screens are filled in.

It surprised me that some of the buttons were "sign in" instead of continue, but eventually you get to screens you can modify ports and SSL. There were interesting issues with the way Apple wants to set certain fields like outgoing port with SSL, etc - versus the way Comcast wants combinations. Once I got the changes to stick it all worked...
